How Pobyt was born
Based on a new, unique concept, the app was started by Nikhil Reddy Gurrala, his wife, Meghana Kolanu, and brother, Nihal Reddy Gurrola. Nikhil moved to America to study when he was 17 and continued to stay and work there. In 2011, he had to visit Mumbai for a meeting. It got over earlier than expected, and he had nowhere to go, so he sat in a coffee shop until it was time for his flight. His bill was 1800/-, and he thought he might as well have booked a hotel room. Then he realized that booking a hotel room would mean paying for 24 hours, and he didn’t want to do that. He scribbled some ideas on a tissue paper and took it to show his brother and wife.
After a lot of thorough research, they realized that a concept like theirs didn’t exist, and they decided to go ahead with the development of the app. They decided to call it ‘Pobyt’; a Polish word meaning ‘Stay’, which they thought was apt for their idea.

The app started off in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Tirupathi and has recently expanded to Vizag and Vijayawada as well. The app is highly convenient for working professionals, tourists, or anyone who has some free time, and nowhere to go. No more spending atrocious amounts on hotel rooms for 24 hours.
The app offers hotel booking even for a few minutes if you need to freshen up or take rest for a while. The prices are as low as 1/- per minute, making it highly affordable for everyone. The app lets you book a room for a minimum of three hours, and then you pay for exactly how many ever minute you stayed, when you check out.
